18th July 2012 Windsurfing: The Fludgers-Felixstowe Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: 18/22 Surf / Sea State: crap :( Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudy :( Max Speed: 26.26 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 22.21 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) With a fairly good forecast today I went down the front three times checking the wind and it wasn't until past four that the breeze filled in and even swung slightly onshore and there was even 5/6 kiters out at the ferry !!! So I rigged my big freeride kit at the Fludgers at 4:30 and found out again what a crap place Felixstowe is to sail :( as the sea was horrible sailing straight into short muddled chop making doing anything very difficult and going fast next to impossible !!! I did stick at it for a couple of hours but not much fun involved :( I was joined by one other windsurfer but we seem to be struggling at the moment as windsurfing seems to be dying out abit down this way :( Oh to have a wave and flat water venue cross and handy and some decent wind in the right direction would be good too !!! |
